Biography

Nicole Wilson is thrilled to be Bright Star's assistant principal. Mrs. Wilson has worked in the Douglas County School System for over 18 years. Her career in education began as a substitute teacher and continued as a Special Education Paraprofessional. After realizing that her passion was working with children, she decided to pursue a teaching degree. She currently holds a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She taught second grade for three years before becoming the school’s Instructional Lead Teacher. After seven years of leading and coaching, she earned her certification in Special Education. She taught Special Education for six years supporting students with a variety of disabilities. She has a genuine passion for teaching and supporting other educators. Mrs. Wilson is committed to building relationships and creating a safe, strong learning environment for students and teachers. She is a product of the Douglas County School System and is grateful to be part of the same educational community that helped her become the teacher she is today. She is eager to serve Bright Star and work collaboratively with its staff, families and the community to create lifelong learners.
