Hello My Name Is...
Rachel Jones-Dwyer
My name is Rachel Jones-Dwyer and I am so excited to be the Reading Specialist at Bright Star. This is my 13th year teaching in Douglas County and my fifth year at Bright Star. I previously taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade before becoming the Reading Specialist. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Child Development from Vanderbilt University in 2006. I then went on to pursue my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Vanderbilt in 2007. I am married and have two wonderful sons. I am passionate about teaching and instilling a love of reading in our students. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with all of our Bright Star Comets!
