Mission

The mission of the Douglas County School System is to provide a quality education for all students in a safe, supportive environment.

Our School

At Bright Star Elementary, our focus is on our families. The foundation of Bright Star is our diverse community. From parents to staff, we all bring our different backgrounds and experiences together for the enrichment of our students. The link between school, home, and community is essential for a child's growth and development. We believe in this bond and work very hard to promote it.

Mrs. Heather Fields, Principal, is working hard toward another successful year. In an ever-changing school community, our population is lower than average, allowing for smaller class sizes and more involvement with the students. Parents are always welcome to join in this effort. Parents and extended family are invited to visit Bright Star for lunch with their student or brief scheduled classroom observation. We also have many volunteer and mentorship opportunities for family members to take part in the enrichment of our school.

Bright Star Elementary encourages its families to get involved through our school functions. We are always looking for volunteers to help around the school. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Fields to see how you can become a working part of Bright Star Elementary School.
